Red Flame Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In rainy mountain ranges.
It is huge, growing up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is slightly hardy; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
