Purple Succulent

This short caudiciform grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The fan-like stem is pink-red, and is covered in brittle silver spines. It has a straight, flat, cream trunk atop a very thick block of waxy, exposed roots. The branches are flat and gray-green and silver and are long and thick.

The jagged-edged, thin leaves are purple and amber. They are rigid, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 7 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with each petal a slightly different shade of azure, grow at the top, reappearing once every 5 years. The flower head is made up of 28 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight dish. It has a strong scent that smells like vomit.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the olive flesh is slimy, and the brown sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
