Bluebell

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short caudiciform grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The wispy stem is pink-red, and is covered in handfuls of rigid brown spines. It has a wonky, very thick, grey trunk atop a bulbous clump of cracked, exposed roots. The branches are very thick and lime and are tall, rigid and upright.

The serrated-edged, thick leaves are blue and amber. They are hardy, and take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 2 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are white in the center, olive in the middle and purple at the edges grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with many widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has an intense scent that smells like skunk spray.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the pale red flesh is rough, and the dark grey sap is thin and can kill if consumed.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is overwhelmingly resistant to fire damage.
