Copperfruit

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 63 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, crooked trunk covered in thick, smooth, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pine-coloured.

The small handful of branches are short and slender and are covered with copious amounts of large, slender, pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either blue or peach, with dark yellow patches.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of tiny, white blossoms with oval-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like onion.

In late summer it produces small, fan-like fruit. The smooth gold skin is thick and inedible, and the slightly crunchy olive flesh is sweet and oily. The olive seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
