Bronzebell

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 40 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has several stocky, straight stems covered in thick, wrinkled, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is pine-coloured.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of miniature, sickle shaped, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are bronze on the edges and dark yellow at the center, flimsy and leathery.

In mid-spring it produces clusters of large, peach flowers with flame-shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like old shoes.
