Copperfruit

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 60 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in smooth, yellow bark, and inside, the soft wood is brown.

The small bunches of branches are long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of giant, circular leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid copper with slate splotches.

In early spring, it produces clusters of small, brown blossoms with 9 crescent-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like a man.

In late autumn it produces small, spherical fruit. The rough amber skin is stretchy and edible when boiled; it is slightly sweet, and the slightly crunchy gold flesh is sweet and juicy. The green seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
