Bluebrush

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 44 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has numerous thick, slanted stems covered in knobbly, black with white speckled bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy that and are covered with large amounts of large, thin, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are generally blue, light and fuzzy.

It produces many medium-sized, violet flowers with circular petals. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like cinnamon. In midwinter it forms tinybronze, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
