Indigo Succulent

This short cactus grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 5 finger-like stems. Each stem is red, and is covered in handfuls of flexible indigo spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are either brilliant red or silver, with a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. It has a strong scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

The cactus's skin is tough, the blue flesh is smooth, and the subtle blue sap is thin.
