Copper?

This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 42 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the dense wood is yellow-brown.

The numerous branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of huge, sickle shaped leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are grey and olive.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, dark orange blossoms with spear shaped petals. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like cheese.

In late autumn it produces , oval fruit. The smooth copper skin is thick and slightly sour, and the crunchy blood red flesh is extremely spicy and dry. The green seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
