Golden Fruit Tree

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 20 feet (6.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 28 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, angular trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, dark gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is white with black speckles.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with handfuls of large, wide leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are magenta and bronze.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of small, beige blossoms with finger-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like cinnamon.

In late autumn it produces , finger-like fruit. The leathery bold yellow skin is thin and sweet, and the slightly crunchy gold flesh is salty and sour and oily. The yellow seed is tiny and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
