Turquoise

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 19 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has many thick, twisting stems covered in silky, brown bark, and the wood inside is silver.

The branches are short and slender with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of tiny, asymmetrical, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are found in cream, cyan and turquoise varieties, strong and rough.

In early spring it produces several giant, violet blossoms with flame-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like apple.

In early autumn tiny wide fruits ripen. The soft yellow skin is thin and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy orange flesh is spicy and juicy. The caramel seeds are tiny and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
