Silverfern

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 105 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous wide, wavy stems covered in hard, cracked, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy that and are covered with small bunches of huge, wide, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are generally cyan, delicate and leathery.

It produces hundreds of medium-sized, violet flowers with spiral shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a faint scent that smells like rotten eggs. In late spring it forms medium-sizedolive, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
