This average-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 48 feet (14.6 meters)0.

It takes 11 months for the gray-green stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are smooth and slick.

The very thick, rough leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are either aquamarine, or crimson with magenta dots, and have tattered edges.

It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
