Copperberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 31 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in waxy, dark green bark, and inside, the flexible wood is black.

The small bunches of branches are very long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of huge, 7 pointed leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in light grey, light grey and copper varieties.

In early spring, it produces dozens of medium-sized, caramel blossoms with V-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have the faintest scent that smells like alcohol.

In early summer it produces tiny, oblong fruit. The fuzzy sky blue skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft crimson flesh is sour and sticky. The red seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
