Magenta

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 34 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a thick, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, cracked, silver and white bark, and inside, the light wood is white.

The abundance of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of small, slender, pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are green and beige.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of giant, magenta blossoms with perforated petals. They are sturdy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like leather.

In early autumn it produces very large, fan-like fruit. The sticky olive skin is thick and sour, and the slightly crunchy crimson flesh is spicy and powdery. The slate seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
