Silvergrass

Grass type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This big, grey grass grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The needle-like stalks grow in sparse patches that are sturdy and flexible and they overwhelm an area rapidly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, grey puff.

During the early autumn, it produces very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of giant grains.

The grains are bitter, but very healthy and can be used to make numerous baked goods.
It is suitable for making paper
