Yellow Wispy
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its yellow stems grow in bunches of 8 and are wispy and straight, and the miniature, copper leaves are stiff, pointed with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
Lots of small flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are generally grey; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is made up of 5 petals in raised layers. They detach easily.
It has a fairly strong scent that smells like cheese, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
