Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 21 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has numerous wide, angular stems covered in fine, silky, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.
The branches trail down across the ground that and are covered with thick bunches of large, long, tapering, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are either orange or gold, with hazel splotches, durable and leathery.
It produces thick bunches of giant, brilliant yellow flowers with long, narrow petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like chocolate. In late autumn it forms smalllight purple aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
The trunk and branches are covered in large spikes.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
