Caramel Gray Moss

This gray and caramel moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On rotten logs, and On trees.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is slightly resistant.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release thousands of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
