Gray Flame Moss

This gray moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps On trees, In marshes, and In damp forests.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is overwhelmingly tough.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release hundred of spores.
