Copper Spine Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized cactus grows up to 70 feet (21.3 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 4 asymmetrical stems. Each stem is copper or beige, and is dotted with small black spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 18 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid muted purple petals and a violet central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 17 raised, round-tipped petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like mango.

The cactus's skin is very thick, the red flesh is rubbery, and the lime sap is thin.
