Copperberry

This small fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 51 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, crooked trunk covered in ridged, yellow bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale yellow.

The abundance of branches are very long and thick and are covered with small amounts of giant, fan-like leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are light brown and blue.

In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, cream blossoms with 3 teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have no scent.

In late autumn it produces small, slender, 6 pointed fruit. The leathery cyan skin is delicate and inedible, and the slightly crunchy copper flesh is sweet and oily. The slate seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
