Crimson Creeper

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 26 feet (7.9 meters) and growing as high as 21 feet (6.4 meters).

It takes 5 years for the bronze or crimson stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are rough and gnarled.

The 5 pointed, crispy leaves reach up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) in length. They are copper at the bottom and red with blood red lines at the top, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces many bunches of average purple flowers, and during the late autumn, after flowering, it produces lots of small seed pods.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
Several parts of the shrub have medicinal properties.
