Onionleaf Shrubby

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 18 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of slender, straight stems covered in rough, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of tiny, spear shaped, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are light brown and magenta, frail and leathery.

In late summer it produces many small, lime flowers with 2 circular shaped petals. They fall easily and have an intense scent that smells like onion.
