Burgundy Tree

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 550 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in delicate, rough, burgundy bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The tangled mess of branches are short and thin and are covered with copious amounts of soft, giant, long, narrow leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid copper with sky blue streaks.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of giant, cream blossoms with many layers of petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like cotton.

In late summer it forms tiny, dark grey, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
