Silverfern

This big tree grows up to 80 meters (262.5 feet) tall and lives seemingly forever, with many known specimen being tens of thousands of years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, twisting trunk covered in ridged, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale brown-grey.

The sparse amount of branches trail down across the ground, with thousands of twigs covered with small bunches of giant, silver needles. The needles themselves are flexible.

In late summer it produces giant, lime, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
