This big vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 173 feet (52.7 meters) and growing as high as 46 feet (14.0 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.

During late spring, the vine produces many clusters of giant black flowers, and during the early autumn, after flowering, it produces lots of small fruits.
