Silverberry
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This big shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 191 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has dozens of stocky, straight stems covered in rough, light gray bark, and the wood inside is gray.
The branches trail down to the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of huge, perforated, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are found in silver and cyan varieties, frail and smooth.
In early spring it produces thick bunches of giant, red blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like perfume.
In mid-autumn small oblong fruits ripen. The fuzzy bronze skin is delicate and inedible, and the crunchy cream flesh is sour and oily. The light grey seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It can survive a very long time without water.
