Pink-Red Succulent

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 31 feet (9.4 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 4 finger-like stems. Each stem is pink-red, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid bright green spines. The mushroom-shaped body is pink-red, and is covered in many flexible beige spines.

It is fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are peach on the underside and faded blue on the top grows at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of dozens of widely spaced, narrow petals. It has an intense scent that smells like grass cuttings.

The cactus's skin is thin, the brown flesh is leathery, and the green sap is thin.

The grains are bitter, but very healthy and are suitable for boiling.
