Graygrass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This short, gray-green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The long, tapering stalks grow in small clumps that are light and frail and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, brown tuft.

During the early winter, it produces a fair amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of small grains.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
