Magenta Conifer

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 46 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has numerous branched, crooked stems covered in rough, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches are short and thin that and are covered with large amounts of huge, asymmetrical, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are slate at the bottom and subtle purple with magenta dots at the top, flimsy and covered in fine hairs.

It produces balls of tiny, magenta flowers with long, tapering petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like damp. In early summer it forms tinybronze seed pods.
