Emberflower

Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its emerald stems grow in bunches of 3 and are thick with a curved tip, and the miniature, lime green leaves are thin with wavy edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of orange. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 19 curved petals. They detach easily.

It has the faintest scent that smells like ashes, and it has an average amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.

It is suitable for making strong rope
The sap is edible and very sour.
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
