Groundpine

This average-sized tree grows up to 26 meters (85.3 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2906 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, slanted trunk covered in waxy, light gray bark, and inside, the light wood is burgundy-brown.

The excessive amount of branches are very short and thin, with hundreds of twigs covered with small bunches of giant, lime green needles. The needles themselves are flexible.

In late summer it produces large, green, shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
