Aquamarineleaf Tree

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 55 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, smooth, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale yellow.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with very large amounts of rough, miniature, 7 pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are found in brown, grey and aquamarine varieties.

In late summer it forms large, crimson aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
