Lilacberry

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 36 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a knobbly, crooked trunk covered in thin, smooth, brown-green bark, and inside, the light wood is yellow.

The large clumps of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with very large amounts of huge, wide leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are peach and cream.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of large, slate blossoms with V-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like rich perfume.

In early winter it produces , finger-like fruit. The sticky slate skin is tough and bland, and the slightly crunchy lilac flesh is sweet and sour and powdery. The caramel seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
