Crimson Zephyr

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This large leaf succulent grows up to 79 feet (24.1 meters) tall. The thick stem is crimson, and is covered in brittle silver spines. The tattered-edged, long, narrow leaves are black at the bottom and intense purple with purple zig-zags at the top. Handfuls of them grow from the base like rose petals. The leaves are delicate, and detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 13 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are olive on the underside and vibrant yellow on the top, grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 42 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has the faintest scent that smells like damp.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the aquamarine flesh is slimy, and the silver sap is thin.

It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
