Copperleaf

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 440 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in ridged, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the light wood is copper-coloured.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of fuzzy, miniature, sickle shaped leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are violet and vibrant blue.

In late summer it forms large, yellow, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for making strong rope
