Copperleaf

This colossal tree grows up to 130 meters (426.5 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 122 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in knobbly, dark gray bark, and inside, the flexible wood is copper-coloured.

The small bunches of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of smooth, large, perforated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in hazel, sky blue and pink varieties.

In late summer it forms giant, dull orange, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
