Vanilla Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This modest-sized tree grows up to 9 meters (29.5 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 630 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, slanted trunk covered in thick, ridged, brown and grey bark, and inside, the very hard wood is mahogany-coloured.
The numerous branches trail down to the ground and are covered with copious amounts of smooth, large, finger-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid white with purple lines.
In early spring, it produces a handful of tiny, gold blossoms with triangular shaped petals. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like vanilla.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, caramel, tough-shelled seeds.
The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
