Violet Tree

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 112 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, curved trunk covered in fine, silky, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is yellow.

The branches are short and thin and are covered with large amounts of crispy, miniature, very thick leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid purple with blue dots.

In early spring, it produces lots of small, washed-out green blossoms with broad, flat petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like faeces.

In late summer it forms tiny, white seed pods.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
