Savorylime

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 37 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a very thick, angular trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, light gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is white with black speckles.

The tangled mess of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of small, long, tapering leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in lime and orange varieties.

In early spring, it produces dozens of giant, crimson blossoms with perforated petals. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like paint.

In mid-summer it produces , oval fruit. The smooth silver skin is thick and extremely savoury, and the very soft blue flesh is savoury and very dry. The subtle red seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
