Goldenbell

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized tree grows up to 20 meters (65.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 594 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a wide, crooked trunk covered in delicate, silky, yellow bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale yellow.

The branches are very long and slender and are covered with handfuls of waxy, small, very thick leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either gold, or grey with lime edges.

In early spring, it produces lots of small, lilac blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like sugar.

In late summer it forms giant, red, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
