Coniapple Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 52 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, twisting trunk covered in fine, waxy, light gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is dark brown.

The small bunches of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, crescent-shaped leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are either white, or blue with pink edges.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, copper blossoms with perforated petals. They fall easily and have a powerful scent that smells like fermented fruit.

In mid-summer it produces large, long, curved fruit. The waxy white skin is tough and bitter, and the very soft blue flesh is sweet and oily. The lime seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
