Caramel Spine Succulent

This big caudiciform grows up to 79 feet (24.1 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is silver, and is covered in copious amounts of flexible caramel spines. It has a curved, thin, orange trunk atop a slender web of rough, exposed roots. The branches are thick and lime green and are very short, thin and wispy.

The irregular-edged, fan-like leaves are either white, or blue with pink edges. They are delicate, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is slow growing, taking 18 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are beige at the sides and turquoise at the center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with many tightly layered round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like rich perfume.

The caudiciform's skin is nearly impenetrable, the crimson flesh is waxy, and the intense orange sap is thin.
