This aquamarine moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In damp forests, and On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is extremely delicate.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release hundred of spores.

It comes in 9 varieties.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
