Violetvine

This huge tree grows up to 123 meters (403.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 101 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a stocky, slanted trunk covered in ridged, dark green bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white.

The small handful of branches are short and thin and are covered with large amounts of crispy, miniature, very thin leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either cream or grey, with purple streaks.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of small, light grey blossoms with fan-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a faint scent that smells like cheese.

In late summer it forms giant, dark orange, shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
