Violet Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This small, violet grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The stiff, pointed stalks grow in extensive patches that are flimsy.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a tiny, gold tuft.

During the early autumn, it produces very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of small grains.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It is often home to a particular bird species.
