Bronzeleaf Succulent

This short leaf succulent grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The finger-like stem is yellow-green, and is covered in brittle green spines. The stumpy leaves are either cyan or bronze, with light grey zig-zags. Thick bunches of them grow on thick, gnarled, gray-green branches that trail down to the ground. The leaves are strong, and easily come away when pulled.

It is very slow growing, taking 11 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are either peach or violet, with a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 7 petals in raised layers. It has a powerful scent that smells like misty mornings.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the amber flesh is soft, and the white sap is thin.
