Cyanbell
Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 44 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has numerous narrow, straight stems covered in delicate, silky, yellow bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.
The branches are long and thick with dozens of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of giant, slender, pointed, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either cyan or bronze, with light grey zig-zags, flexible and smooth.
In early summer it produces lots of giant, light grey flowers with pleated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like freshly washed clothes.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
