Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 39 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, wavy trunk covered in hard, rough, brown-green bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown.

The tangled mess of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, broad, flat leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are found in dark brown, grey and vivid blue varieties.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, hazel blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They are hardy and have a soft scent that smells like cheese.

In early autumn it produces , spherical fruit. The clammy light purple skin is thin and spicy, and the slightly crunchy green flesh is extremely sweet and very juicy. The olive seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for making strong rope
